The Biobank Resource Center

Developed by the University of British Colombia Office of Biobank and Research and the Canadian Tissue Repository Network

The Biobank Resource Centre (BRC) provides access to a range of tools and services for individuals developing or maintaining all types of biospecimen collections, ranging from small researcher collections to large biobanks. The BRC is a not‑for‑profit center developed in partnership by the BC Cancer Biobanking and Biospecimen Research Services (previously known as the University of British Columbia Office of Biobank Education and Research) and the Canadian Tumour Repository Network (CTRNet).

The goals of the Biobank Resource Centre are to:

• Provide services and tools that support researchers in establishing and operating biobanks
• Educate and promote the certification of biobanks to enhance quality through the adoption of best‑practice standards
